Once in a while you come across a textile that is so extraordinary you have two reactions to it - First you can't quite catch your breathe and sort of get lost in it. Second you feel the irrepressible need to have it in your hands! This is one of those pieces. The fabric is so extraordinary I am actually sad that i have to try to convey it by words. It is a fine silk chiffon, customs screened and printed. Onto it are bands of fine matte silk satin that are unbelievably light, soft and smooth. These bands are highlighted with a vivid coral print and the combination of the color and the fabric makes this coral seem to glow. It catches the light and adds a sheen and glow to where these are places. The sleeves widen as they reach their ends and are as light as air. You see Oscar's nod to the orient with the offset row of buttons down one side of the bodice. The skirt flows to the ground and adds to the feeling of lightness and romance. It is really exquisite and exceptional piece of early Oscar De La Renta. Excellent condition.
