This is an incredible Thea Porter Couture gown! Thea always began with the fabric when she designed and loved choosing fabrics that became a part of the design itself whether by texture, color or design. For this particular dress the lace she used is set in long vertical panels and she has used this as a design element. In the skirt for example the lace is places vertically but since the skirt is so very full it ends up creating an angled line that gives both visual interest to the piece but also the illusion of greater height and length to the wearer. The sleeves are very full and just below the elbow and the front cut in a square neckline. I have seen versions of this gown in a more rounded neckline but I prefer this shape as it balance the gown better. I love the little floret and diamond designs worked into the lace. It is an incredibly beautiful piece and very romantic. It would certainly be suitable for an evening occasion or even a less formal wedding! Excellent condition.
